Below is a list of drugs that may promote excessive bleeding during surgery and must be avoided for at least one week prior to surgery.
Your physician should be aware of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you are taking, including those not listed, as well as any herbal or dietary supplements. Do not discontinue the use of any prescription medication with out permission from your physician.
Since many patients are allergic or sensitive to aspirin or related compounds, be aware that these prescriptions and over the counter products contain such agents (not a complete listing).
